The Pods Arrived

Mama's turn to write.......

First there was one and then another...Driveway is full of PODS. We've never used this type of moving system before. We've done the packing and that was no easy job and then tomorrow a team of three hopefully very strong, efficient men will come to move everything into the PODS. The refrigerator is cleaned out, bathrooms scrubbed and the carpet cleaner and vacuum are poised and ready to go into action when the place is vacant.

Leaving Texas is bittersweet. This is our second stint in Texas, first Waco and now Katy. Although we tried very hard, just didn't feel like we had put down any deep roots. until I met my art friends and then it started to feel like home. With all the kidney stone issues for the last two months, haven't gotten in the pool once. It sure looks inviting and if I wasn't so tired, I might jump in. Keith and I went to see the cardiologist yesterday for our checkup and to get meds refilled before the adventure begins. He is a kind man and as we told him our plans, he smiled and said it sounded as though we had our priorities right...and we agreed.

What will we miss in Texas.........some good Mexican restaurants for sure. The warm climate in the winter. We don't wish to brag but we did wear shorts in February this past year. The longer growing season and the tropical plants but wait, we will have those in Florida too...Yeah!!  Leaving here is going to be okay because it is the season for this to end and a new season is unfolding in front of us. We are hopeful, excited. We have a church picked out too...one we have been to when we have visited before. It is lively, a good message and very friendly. Will be nice to join in. The art community is something I need to look more into. Want to see the galleries, find out what artists I like and see if any of them teach.

But for now, tonight....Keith is out getting McDonald's and it is almost 8pm...much more to do this evening...it is coming together....Lord I pray it all fits in two PODS. It was a hot one today and this evening is comfortable and clear. Watered all the plants we are taking with us and we will put them in a UHAIL that Keith will pull with his pickup. Barney and I will ride in the Mustang behind. Heard something about a storm brewing. Sure hope we miss the rain, but Texas sure needs it.

And Barney....well he is fine. He is going to dine on a hamburger this evening too. He is anxious, a little clingy and playful at the same time. I don't think he minds the new adventure as long as he can be in my lap. Tomorrow he goes back to the groomer where he will gets hugs and love and some puppy day care so he doesn't run out the door or gate with so many people moving about.

Sweet dreams everyone and thanks for the prayers.  More tomorrow
