First Night On Our Journey

Well we lost an hour going from central time to eastern time....the long delay..did I say long....in Baton Rouge caused us to drive the last 2 hours in the dark. Well, some of you know I am driving restricted to only daylight but we pressed through and made it here to Slidell just fine. It is a new LaQuinta hotel right off of I-12 and very convenient. For those that don't know, all LaQuinta's take pets. We have our "diaper bag" for Barney that really does have potty pads, dry food, wet food, treats, water, bowls, flea, heartworm, etc etc.......It is 10 pm and he doesn't want anything to eat...too much excitement. In fact, he is more entertained laying by the door where he can sniff people walking the hall. He is in "high protection" mode. I am afraid he will bark. Pizza is coming soon and that was the only delivery option..couldn't bear any more car time today to go get anything. Hoping to visit with a friend in the morning before getting on the road around 11am.....the best news of all today was that Barney was so happy to go, that once he got in his little crate, house, mobile RV, he didn't whimper but once in 8 hours. So good. Slept most of the way. So now, I am going to get on the floor with his favorite red ball and try to wear him out......tomorrow is another day of driving...thanks for all the prayers for today....they worked.
